Epiphone Les Paul Junior fanned fret Custom guitar
This Epiphone Les Paul Junior has undergone heavy customization. It has been converted to a stop tail fanned fret model with a gold top nitro finish.
After removing the existing fretboard, a new fanned fret rosewood board was made with a 12" radius and scale lengths of 26.5" to 24". It was fretted and a nut was made and set into the neck, side dots were inlaid.
The headstock was painted black.
After grainfilling the back and neck, brown tinted nitro cellulose lacquer was applied. The bridge position was calculated and the post holes drilled. The front was finished in old gold nitro, top coated clear and buffed to a satin sheen.
The bridge was custom made and intonated. A high output P90 type pickup was wired up to a volume and tone with CTS pots, Sprague orange drop cap and switchcraft jack...
A very unique and totally awesome Junior!
