Guitar modifications

Necks...reshaping, inlays.

Neck mods are extremely popular, from back, headstock or heel reshaping, fretboard radius changes, inlay work etc. Most can be reprofiled to your requirements. Set neck and bolt on models are catered for.

The top row of pics show a 1992 Patrick Eggle Belin pro which had very little taper from frets 1 to 5. We reworked it to give it a more natural 'feel' slimming it down from front to back as well as reducing the shoulders along the entire playing length.  The new finish was colour matched and blended into the original finish to meet the headstock back and heel.

The bottom row shows a '90's Greco EG70 Les Paul. The customer wanted the fretboard inlays changing from the stock parallelogram ones to genuine pearl/shell oversize blocks.

Alterations/routs for non standard or additional pickup and electrical components upgrades

We can modify guitars for different pickups, controls or hardware. Sometimes additional routs are required, or alterations and extensions to existing routs, which is often possible. We can advise on the best options for your needs and have a large variety of routing templates and specialist tools at the ready to ensure neat results.

The first 3 pics show our handwired loom for a 335 type semi, using CTS pots, sprague caps, switchcraft jack and switch and cloth wire. You'll notice that no wires are visible through the F holes....just how we like it! A pair of Gibson Burstbuckers completed the upgrade. The pot holes needed reaming out to fit the full size pot shafts.

The next 3 pics show body routs to house a mid boost circuit board and battery that we fitted to this Fender strat, along with a pickup upgrade to a super set of Dimarzio pickups.

The last 2 pics show additional pickup routs and an extended control cavity rout that we did on a Precision bass body to house 2 additional pickups and 3 stacked pots.

Bridges and tailpieces,

Whether you want a perfectly aligned Bigsby fitting, a bespoke bracket for fitment to a flying Vee,  a one piece bridge converting to 2 piece, a bridge or tailpiece that isn't a straight swap or a direct fit, or a hardtail guitar converting to a trem, we can advise and oblige.
